8 CE Credits + A Nervous System Skillset You'll Use Every Session
Most continuing education gives you more techniques. Trager® Essentials Home Study Course gives you something different:
A way to feel what your client's nervous system is doing—and shift it in real time through touch, movement, and presence. Discover The Trager Approach.
"What if your hands spoke safety so clearly, your clients nervous system finally listened?"
In this 8-credit on-line self-paced training, you'll learn the foundations of the Trager Approach.—Dr. Trager's highly effective "language" of touch and movement used to:
- Reduce holding patterns without force
- Improve client outcomes with less effort
- Create a sense of safety the body actually responds to
- Ensure your career longevity
If you've been looking for something that actually changes how your sessions feel—for you and your clients—This is it.
And ***Graduates of this training also receive a $125 professional credit toward Level 1 certification with Michael Lear.***
What's Inside:
Module 1
- Introduction to Trager Mentastics — the somatic self-care movement practice integral to the Trager Approach
- Explore how curiosity and inquiry-driven movement engages neuroplasticity and communicates lightness, fluidity, and ease to the nervous system
- Develop efficient body mechanics and proper fascial gathering (removing slack) to support whole-body engagement and practitioner comfort during tablework
- Learn to cultivate "Trager hands" — a unique, full-hand contact approach distinct from traditional massage
- Practice functional applications using a balloon, progressing from neck rotations to the larger muscle groups of the lower extremities
Module 2
- Deeper exploration of neck work: rotations and elongations
- Learn how to impart feeling states through touch and movement and their impact on the client's cognitive representation (body map) and neuroplasticity
- Practice leg mobilizations focused on the hip rotators
- Develop rhythm and movement in the rib cage, using it as a dynamic handle to influence attached muscles while down-regulating the nervous system
- Study the core principles of rocking and rhythm through weight-shifting Mentastics
- Understand that the principles serve as the "grammar" of the work — the adaptive element that allows the practice to meet each unique body
Module 3
- Use Mentastics as both a movement assessment tool and a resource for clients to maintain session benefits at home
- Learn a new approach for addressing resistant necks by engaging the shoulder girdle
- Explore prone position work and mobilizations
- Study key principles, including weighing and sculpting (soft, full, slow-moving touch to support asymmetrical co-regulation)
- Practice rocking the lower back, using compressions on the lower back to mobilize the rib cage as a handle, and various shoulder and lower extremity mobilizations
Module 4
- Full review of the material through a complete mini-session protocol
- Move from movement intake → application of key principles in supine and prone positions → integrative movement
- Conclude with an extended Q&A session
Module 5: Anatomy of Consciousness — How Trager® Leverages the Universe (Not part of the exam)
- Explore how Dr. Trager worked with advanced concepts long before they became mainstream, including:
- Neuroplasticity
- Epigenetics
- Heart-Brain Coherence
- Mindfulness
- Trauma-Informed Touch
- Non-Violent Communication
- The Quantum Observer Effect
Module 6: BONUS MODULE
-
Michael has added an additional 6th, bonus module to this offering: A two hour Zoom presentation and demonstration of his popular Polyvagal Down Regulation Protocol addressing heightened resting muscle tone in the fight, flight, and freeze musculature: Illiopsoas, Diaphragm, Trapezius and Occipitals.
