Intro to Somatic Principles / Trager® Introductory Workshop
Join Linda MacConnell in Brandon VT, for this one day workshop to begin your journey into the world of somatic movement re-education therapy.
This workshop introduces the somatic principles of the Trager Approach, developed over 90 years ago by Dr. Milton Trager for the treatment of polio and sciatica, and other human challenges. The Trager Approach remains an innovative approach to movement education and self-care, facilitating lasting neuro-muscular change.
It is a highly effective approach that is centered around practitioner self-care and mindfulness in motion. Practitioners utilizes gentle touch and rhythmic movements to cultivate a state of deep relaxation to release muscle holding patterns residing in the unconscious mind that often manifest as functional limitation or pain.
Self-Care movement exercises are provided so therapists and clients develop their own "recall" capacity to elicit similar relaxation responses outside of the classroom or session. These movement explorations are easily applied to daily living activities and help facilitate temporary results into long term pattern changes.
This is a great way to begin your journey into the world of somatic movement re-education therapy.
No oil or lubricant is used. Dress in comfortable clothing that is easy to move in.
