My wellness journey began intuitively as a professional dancer, where I immersed myself in creative exploration, discovering the human experience through the body in motion. This foundation ignited my devotion to the mind body connection, leading me to become a somatic movement educator and Trager® practitioner in 2004, after exploring many other modalities such as the Alexander Technique, Body Mind Centering, Bartenieff Fundamentals, contact improv and yoga. In my role as Trager® practitioner, I have guided others to explore the intricate connection between emotion and body, including domestic violence and sexual abuse survivors, refugees and torture survivors, dancers, athletes, those with chronic pain and eating disorders. I love the beautiful coherence that gentle movement brings to a dysregulated nervous system. After working as a therapist in an eating disorders treatment program, I became a nurse, driven by a curiosity of how our emotions impact our physiology. When the pandemic illuminated my own overstimulation from the hospital environment, I transitioned to psychiatry as a nurse practitioner where I now integrate my somatic movement skills with psychotherapy and evidence based integrative medicine.
